OVERVIEW:
Ads can be text or banners. Banners are rectangular graphic images, of specified format and dimensions, which serve as mini-billboards of your event or website. Each banner or text ad will be a direct hyperlink to your web site or e-mail address. That is when the readers click on the underlined text or the banner image the specified website comes up in their browser. There are several choices of placement within a page as shown with the labeled sample banners. We offer advertising on the SalsaWeb Home Page and on the shared border which appears on all CityGuides pages (only banners A and C). We also offer advertising on any individual Local CityGuide page. See the CityGuides Menu for all possible cities. Text can be used instead of a banner for any of the possible locations. The rates for text ads are identical to ad banners. However, all video sales will be handled by the Salsaweb video store.

SalsaWeb maintains the right to refuse any text or banner ad if it does not conform to our guidelines and if we deem the content unsuitable.
GENERAL STATISTICS:
Although usage varies, SalsaWeb.com gets more than 80,000 hits daily and about 2.5 million hits per month. We portal out to more than 2,000 linked sites. More than 5,000 web sites worldwide have a link leading to SalsaWeb.com. The upper section of the web page is what is viewed by our readers without having to scroll down the page and is therefore more desired and click-through response is much higher for those banner positions Banners get more click-throughs than text ads - due to the catchy logos and graphics and generally more professional appearance. Banner A gets the highest response averaging 16 times more click-throughs compared to banners B and D. The cost is not 16 times higher which makes that option the best value, even though it is more expensive.
FORMAT:
The preferred file format for banner images is GIFF (file extension .gif) We will accept JPEG images too (file extension .jpg). Images can be true color, 256 colors or even black and white. File size should not be larger than 15KB and even smaller 4-8KB for Banner B All banners must be rectangular landscape (width larger than height) with the aspect dimensions as specified in pixels on the sample banners. Most leading image software will allow you to change the dimensions and resolution in pixels. Actual size will depend on how the readers have set their own computers' display resolutions and, for text, on the font settings of their own web browsers. As a rule of thumb, at the most popular 800x600 pixel resolution on a 17" monitor 80 pixels=1"=2.5cm

BILLING TERMS:
All prices are flat monthly rates. Terms are prepaid only. We accept checks, money orders and Visa, Master and Discover credit and debit cards The minimum rate is one month. Ads that will appear less than one month will not be prorated. Only Banner A - Home page has minimum run time of half a month. Proration is applied only to ads that run more than one month. For example, if an ad is placed on Jan 10 and will run till the end of February the cost will be for 21 days in January and a full month of February. If the ad were to run only till the end of January the cost would be one full month. There is an initial set-up fee of $25 for all ads which includes removal when the ad runs out. The fee for all further banner/text changes or updates is $25 too. Animated/multi-page GIFFs have an additional fee per each additional page/layer of the image. All ads include the free hyperlink to your site or e-mail address. Ad Banners A and C are exclusive because of their unique position and they are first come first serve basis. Ad Banners B and C are generally placed in order of the event date. To ensure top positioning there is a minimum $50 surcharge. Other advertisers can bid for that priority in increments of $50 and the ads will display in order of the highest bidder for that month from top to bottom. Top priority ads are not prorated for part of a month's run time. Contact Advertising if you wish to upgrade the priority of your banner B or D.
