Review by Marla Friedler

"Sobre el fuego" is the newest release by the artist known by those who love her as "La India." The entire CD contains very danceable tunes. It's a winner. How could it not be? Combine the vocal power of India with the producing and arranging skills of Isidro Infante and it's no wonder this CD has received a Grammy nomination.

"Me Canse De Ser La Otra," the first track, is a beautiful song with a great dance beat and nice breaks and accents. It combines rhythm and blues with Cuban rhythms.  I love this song and listen to it often. It's one of those songs that you find yourself singing outloud. This song has "hit" written all over it.

"No Me Lo Confiesas" and "Mi Mayor Venganza" are also some of the highlights of this CD but one of my favorite songs is "Si Tu Eres Mi Hombre."

The title track "Sobre El Fuego" is a great song with incredible power, a song with a message.

India does a duet with Celia Cruz, "La Voz De La Experiencia," which is a really nice blend of the old and the new.   I love hearing India and Celia sing together.

I also really like "Si Estuvieras Aqui," which has a perfect dance tempo.

With an incredible vocal range, power and control, India holds her own as one of the most impactful voices in today's tropical music world.
