Dateline -- March 27th, 1998.
New York City - Well I am supposed to be in Colombia, working with Ismael Miranda , Adalberto Santiago, Yomo Toro and Orquesta Gale. Well I am still here in NY. It seems that a signed contract with International Bridge Productions LTDA. and MR. HECTOR CAMARGO RESTREPO NIT 811007482-0 MEANS nothing...AFTER SIGNING A CONTRACT FOR 3 SHOWS IN CALI, QUIPDO AND MEDELLIN, Mr. Camargo decided NOT to send our plane tickets or deposits. It seems he was having trouble with the stadium in Cali and just did NOT respond to my calls and faxes..What testicles....Falta respecto.....If anyone plans to do business with this man or his company, you better think twice about it..
He is totally unreliable and a complete liar....Ismael went to Medellin, paid for his own ticket and hotel because he had other business to take care of. I am waiting for his report... I was told the tickets were in the computer prepaid...Mentira......There were reservations for Yomo and I but the tickets were NOT paid for..I waited three days and was lied to many times and not once did they call back and return my calls....I hope that the radio station does not think that I just did not show up...I have friends in Medellin who are explaining the situation to them at this moment....So goes la vida de artistas...I heard Ricky Martin has been in a court battle for 9 months now, trying to collect some $25,000.00 he was not paid by a promoter in Medellin...The same one? So, should I try to take him to court in Medellin? For a fee less than half of that ....Legal costs Lawyers make all the money.
Anyway I am looking foward to the big bash in Washington DC April 17th at the Univ. of District of Columbia.....The whole Latin Legends band will be there and I will present for viewing, for the first time a documentary called,"Through the Eyes of Larry Harlow", made by Tropical Visions Entertainment Group from Puerto Rico, Produced by Ralph Rivera. This video will be shown appx at 7PM at the school and I will be there for questions and answers....Hope to see you all there from the DC area...Larry Harlow
