Nevertheless, I promote latin music in the UK and Europe when I'm there...My e-mail is: yambeque@hotmail.com and I'd lie to keep in contact with you as you're one of the greates pianist Salsa has ever had...There's only one Larry Harlow " EL JUDIO MARAVILLOSO" ...

Thank God someone original has come back!!! I'm so sick of this 'generic salsa' that is being pushed today. I hope other members of Fania will start to emerge again. Thank you for so many years of wonderful music and good times. One last thing do you know where I might be able to locate the movie in video format of "Our Latin Thing" can't find it anywhere! Muchas gracias otra vez!!

Larry Harlow's Latin Legend is the best that happen in Japan in a long time. We are glad that he is coming back again to share the salsa music with the large number of Japannesse Salseros. I'm from Guayama, Puerto Rico living in Japan. Larry's music here in Japan is a blessing for our small group of Puerto Ricans living here in Japan. Come over soon, this Puerto Rican Pilot is waiting for more salsa. The web page is great introduction for the band and a great sponsor of our music. Thanks Larry for the support to the latin salsa.

Dear Larry,
I have recently been converted to the joys Salsa since working in S. America and taking up lessons. Being a student here in the UK it is often difficult to hear about new record releases and tours.I was very suprised to find your web page of such a high quality and interested in your forthcoming album and tour. It is a pity that Britain is not on your tour list, maybe you could bear us in mind when you plan your next! I look forward to obtaining a copy of your new album and wish you the best of luck and warm reseption on your travels.

I love to listen to Larry Harlow's music, but when I found out a certain musician was playing with him in which has a very ugly reputation I did not listen to Harlow again. And many people feel the same way, it almost puts a damper on his style and professionalism.

I think mixing tradtional afro-cuban beats with popular american hip-hop beats is the wave of the future and is vital in keeping an increasing amount of young latinos, who are turning to hip-hop and reggae, listening to salsa. I am 17 yrs. old and listen to the classic Fania recordings and love them but my friends simply aren't hip to that sound and I think if we want this music to survive we have to make music that the young people can dance to.
Nice web site. Seeing the names of all these artists together is exciting. I'm a big fan af all the FANIA greats. Keep it up!

It is a great feeling to know, that the great"Larry Harlow has returned. You are a legendary, great human beign, and unique musician.I just connected with you webb page, and i think it is magnificent. It is gratifying to see someone so involved in the music ,and it culture as you have.I have been following your music since the 60s.I still vividly recall one of your great concerts, featuring a young electrifying young man playing the violin;his name escapes me.this show took place in a mid manhattan music hall.I have seen plenty of concerts in my time, but your concert ranks as the best. The young musicians of today should realize, and feel fortunate to have such a person amongst their midst.Great to have you back!
I am a hispanic born and raised in the us . i am proud to say that i have always enjoyed your music, and was able to learn about our roots in our music rythms
Larry you being one of the original Fania All Stars and all, and after the death of Santitos Colon, it's great to always hear that the sound of Latin Music WILL be kept alive and kicking for years to come and I'm really glad that you keep pumping out the great sounds that you do. You are truly one of the Legends along with Santitos, Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto and the rest of the All Stars which have all come along way.
Thanks for all the memories and "ViVa NUESTRA MUSICA"

well, Larry this is a good opportunity to tell you how much I appreciatt the Harlow orquestra. I am Venezuelan and I saw the latin leyends in California and my name is Luis Quinones I went to see the band with my pregnant wife and just enjoyed the band playing with Adalberto and Yomo. I did not dance, but my heart and soul was with you enoying the masters. I do not know if the CD of the latin leyends has been release in California. How do I know when? also, I will like to comment to you that I am trying to have Orquestra Harlow collection on CD but the insert do not list the original words and Musicians participation in each disk. If I want to do any research I would be short. A lot of people has been complainint about this lack of care of the people that release this CD (Fania or Sony) We need respect for the musicians, and participants of all of this good music. Que Viva la Musica Latina! My regards to Larry and the Latin Leyends Band.
Luis, Nascina and Yuruan.

I was station in berlin too and I went to cuple of concert with tito puentes, ruben blades, willy colon, irakere and others, I realy miss that music from the 70's and early 80's, the new bit of todays music is boring, that why I allways maintain my old music in tip top shape. Thanh you for your music and the music of the pass. Sincerely Master Sargeant Rodriguez from Camuy, P.R. now station in FT. Stewart GA. my e-mail HRodriguez@CLDS.NET
Estimado Larry.... Hola... José O. Morales (jmorales@smart.net o petatero@hotmail.com)....
Hi Larry! This is my second time visiting your website and I think it's GREAT! I enjoy reading Harlow Times and listening to your music. Isn't it great to have your mind clear? Note parece? I look forward to the documentary as well. Please keep me posted on when and where it will be shown.
OK Judeo Maravalliso, all the best to you and all the guys in the band.

This is the best album since the begining of the year. You need to bring that combination again. Of yourself with Ismael, brougth me back the memories when you both were togheter. This is the best that Ismael has sounded since his last album of "La Oportunidad". You need to record an album with him with your old hits with him. Beleive me, iit will sell like "HOT CAKES". And record another album with Giovanni in the congas. That is a hell of a combination, yourself trowing him some sweet notes in the piano, and Giovanni playing the congas with the SALSA Gusto. Again, Mr. Harlow, Congratulations. Please, repeated again. And I got a big crowd from Fort Bragg, NC going to see you in DC on the 17th of April. I dont want to take any of Barreto's tune, but "Que Viva La Musica Latina (Salsa) y al Carrajo La Salsa Monga.....It cannot match "The Latin Leyends". The Fania All Stars Succesors. Adios y Sabor con Son.

Larry, keep up the good work that you are doing, you have been an inspiration to the Salsa Music since I can remember back in the 60's. Wish you and your band could do a performance in Houston Texas. Sincerly' Charlie Rodriguez
Gracias

Larry,
Picked up the CD and I was not disappointed! I especially like "Marilu" and "El Jamaquino". The Salsa Romantica (Monga) I could live without but I understand that it must be music for everyone. Very impressed with Lefty Perez as well. He has potential.
Keep it up. Nice to hear big band Salsa again at its best with a "no frills" format. I know you spent some money making this, it sounds it.
Saoco!

Great website! Larry what you've done for our music and what you are currently doing to bring it back makes you the true legend you are. Thank you. I'm upset that Nestor Sanchez is not a featured vocalist on the new album, Nestor is hands down one of the greatest singers in latin music history. He's also one of the most underrated.

Dear Mr. Harlow: On a recent trip to P.R. I was able to purchase your Latin legend's CD. I enjoy it a lot, and I think it is one of the best music recorded in a long time. It can get frustrating being a Salsa fan these days, since the quality of the music and the lyrics are so mediocre. Your new CD was very refreshing and excellent, so carry on, your fans support you,

GRACIAS POR TOCAR ESA MÚSICA TAN MARAVILLOSA. ALEX B. BOGOTÁ COLOMBIA.

Larry Harlow will always be among the best of the salseros forever. Musicians of his caliber and experience don't come along everyday and all salsero's young and old must remember to uphold the salsa tradition so that it never disappears. It is our tradition and a just as much a part of our roots as rice and beans and tostones. While I haven't seen him in concert lately the one concert I will never forget was when my brother hired Larry and his band back in 1967 to play at his wedding here in New York. I was only seven years old but I remember everyone dancing and swinging to his tunes the whole night. It was quite a show. I also remember watching my sister back in the late '60's early '70's getting dressed up for a night at the famous Cheetah night club. While she and her friends were getting ready they would be playing Larry Harlow, Willie Colon, Joe Bataan, Pacheco, Joe Cuba, and many others and I grew up learning to appreciate these new sounds. Now it's only a memory but, boy, what memories. Thank you for all these years of wonderful salsa, may you live forever, and God bless. ----Miguel Valentin----mvalentin@shearman.com

Hi, my name is Luis R. Santos. My favorite song from you is Abran Paso. I also want to add if I can be given a changes to show my singing talent. I believe that I can better than a lot guys out there. I'm only 18 years old, and I also believe that these young guys now don't talent you guys had (Fania All-Star). I wan to try to bring back the "old" salsa style, like Soneros.

It's great t osee and hear that you are maintaining the essence of latin music. The Salsa romatica crap is just another camaflauged meathod of riping off the consumer.

Thanks for the CD with Junior Gonzalez and Ismael Miranda. I once had the pleasure of visiting you at your apartment in St. Mark's place in which the white baby grand piano graced one of your album covers. At the time I was a bongocero in a new band and you were very cordial to me. I will always remember that moment of being with a person who has dedicated so much to nuestra musica latina.

Larry, thanks for being available. Even if it is via e-mail. I've been a fan for many years(I'm 52)and have always enjoyed your sound. I love my musica latina and you do a masterful job playing our sound. We've met on a couple of occassions though you may not remember. I am Ralph Mercados' first cousin. I know, he has a million cousins, but truly, his mom and my mom are sisters. Anyway, enough of that. What I want to know is if you are planning to play in Florida (hopefully the Tampa area) in the future. My wife and I would love to see you play. Please respond. Thanks,--Victor Munoz

At: Alex Benítez.

Larry, Wish you much success with your Salsa Legends. I spent a few hours with Marty Galagarza and Roberto Torres in Phoenix last Saturday. They were on their way back to Miami after a gig in Las Vegas. Between reminiscing and Don Roberto's endless anecdotes, we talked about the void that exsists in the Tucson/Phoenix area as far as getting artists such as the Salsa Legends, Eddie Palmieri, Patato & Afrojazia etc. to perform here. My goal is to get the latin community here to wake up and get back to the basics and away from this salsa mierdotica bullshit. I'm not in the booking agent business nor do I want to be. I just would like for you ( and other artist)to consider stopping here (Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona) to perform when you're in this area (Las Vegas, L.A.). Like I mentioned, I'm not a booking agent. But I'm checking with friends in Tucson, and networking to see if we can import our music and culture to this area of the world. If this makes sense to you, let me know what I can do, or who do I need to contact over here to help get the ball rolling.
Thanks for your time,
Jorge Luis Segui

Dear Mr. Harlow;
I just wanted to drop the Legends Band a line and let them know the CD is awesome. I have ingerited a lot of Salsa Vieja from my parents and I must say Fania is the leader of any type of salsa. I hope that you can do a project with all the previous artistas from fania. I am only 26 but man I enjoy the Song "Palo Duro", Marilu. Man the cd flows. I enjoy all the old salsa and would like to know if there is a distirbutor that can or deal with people that live overseas. I am in the navy stationed in sigonella sicily. I have been over here for almost three years and there are a lot of Boricuas that would be interested. If there are any web pages that offer good salsa by Fania I would appreciate it if you could e-mail me and let me know. I hope that your tour finishes on a good note and I wish you all the best of luck on your future endeavors. My e-mail mojo12@yahoo.com. Que Viva La Salsa de Harlow y de La Fania. God Bless.

Hello, I'm writing because I finally bought your new CD and think it's great. It has an old school flavor with all those instruments going. I also enjoyed your solo's which are tremendous. Congradulations on such a wonderful project and for having the best musicians. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that Giovanni Hidalgo was one of your conga players. I'm just starting to play congas and he is one percussionist that leaves me amased. Once again, wonderful job directing and producing this project. You guys truely are LATIN LEGENDS! ghurt@webtv.net

From: Jose Santiago (Nickname: Chago) To: Mr. Larry Harlow
Larry,
I am a great admirar of your work. I've been following you since the 70's along with Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Ray Barreto, etc. I was an adolescent when I was struck by your music.
I read your interview (INTERNET) and how you came into the music. It amazes me that the story keeps repeating itself because that's how I got into music too!
I've been playing the bass for years before I signed up for the service. I was a little upset on how things were in Puerto Rico then.
Currently I'm in the U.S. Navy (with almost 20 years) and have been playing ever since as a partimer when ever I can. Right now I play bass partime in Virginia Beach, VA with a band called SALSA 90. We had the pleasure and the honor of backing Adalberto Santiago a couple of times. I also saw you a couple of years back playing in Richmond. Like always you and your band were great!
Your WEB page is explendid! It is easy to read and follow along. The pictures are great too! My compliments to SAM.
When are you going to do another musical opera?
