Advice from the legends....
Here is advice and famous sayings that some of the top instructors and legendary dancers say!...
Eddie Torres.... Remember where you came from. And remember that the bottom line should be not so much who’s greater than who, but who has the most fun. Not who dances the best, but who’s having the greatest time out there, because, after all, I think that’s what dancing should be."
Enio Cordoba....“If the music is bothering anybody I can turn it down.!” The second is “If you were any closer to her, you’d be behind her” another one I stole from a swing dancer friend. “Dancing is the only place where you can put your hands all over a girl’s body for 6.5 minutes, and at the end she thanks you for it.” My favorite is when beginner guys hold a girl like shes a live hand grenade- “If you don’t like girls take up bowling!”
Ron Montez...."Are there any problems? Beside your partner?"
Albert Torres...."We’re all born unique but most of us end up dying copies of others. I hope that people maintain their uniqueness because that’s really a special thing, you should always maintain the little girl or little boy inside of you having fun. The one that I say a lot is that dancing is just walking to the rhythm of the music"
David Melendez.... "Don't Worry About It! - It will come to you!"
Cuban Pete.... "Stay on Rhythm! & Go to school!"
Edie "The Salsa Freak" ...“Remember, it’s not how you feel, it’s how you LOOK.” “Four simple words to remember when you’re out on that dance floor: MAKE - IT - LOOK - EASY”. “It’s not what you do, but HOW you do it.” “Surround yourself with possibility thinkers, and watch your life blast off like a rocket!” “As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend.” – Proverbs 27:17 from the Old Testament Scriptures
And one of my favorite sayings is.... If you don't get it today, you'll get it tomorrow and if you don't get it tomorrow, you'll get it the next day, and if you don't get it the next day, you'll get it the day after that, ETC., ETC., ETC....
SECRET IS BE PERSISTENT WITH YOUR DANCING!!!
