Mario's story...

I went on a salsa cruise in the Caribbean three years ago but the
experience is as fresh in my mind now as it was then. What
brings this back to my mind is the upcoming salsa cruise this
summer out of Miami, h'mmm...(I'm still considering signing up).

The cruise was on Carnival lines out of San Juan with layovers in
Martinique, Venezuela, and several other places. What made
this cruise unique was that it was an all Latin American cruise;
food, people, music, everything. 950 Latin party animals (many
from New York, LA, as well as Mexico, Argentina, and so on)
cramped together on one of Carnivals fun ships, and boy was it.

My roomie was from the Dominican Republic, didn't speak a word
of English, but that's what I wanted was to practice my Spanish.
Quite a character; even managed to get laid by one of the salsa
girls, and he didn't even dance salsa! Everynite was party night,
with lots of salsa and Latin music of all kinds. There were lots of
salsa dancers on the cruise, and did we make a splash! Try salsa
dancing on a dance floor rolling back and forth in the high seas
and you'll know what I mean. I was able to try out salsa dancing
styles from all over the Americas, challenging and enjoyable! The
day trips ashore we're also very interesting, lots of adventure. I
don't know where I found all the energy to run around all day and
dance all night, but I managed.
The most rewarding aspect of the trip was the lasting friendships
that were made. Salsa is a great way to bring people together,
and we stay in touch and connect three years later!
