Sheila's Story...

I was a small child when my mother, an avid listener of "Bob
Padro Harris", turned me on to the Latin sounds. As a teenager,
of about 16, I started playing Conga and began dancing on 2.
Joe Cuba and Tito Puente, as well as Machito and Tito Rodriguez,
were what was happening in the late 50's and early 60's.
I went to the Palladium and was privileged to be a part of that whole Latin thing.

Today, a woman in her 50's, I find it a rarity to come across
people who dance on 2, and can groove on the classic sounds of
the above mentioned great's.
This summer I had the great, good fortune to spend a weekend
course with Tito Puente, and even got to dance with him, in
upstate New York. Where are all the face's from the Palladium?
