Thomas' Story...

A few years ago I came to the realization that I was extremely bored with rock music in just abut every way shape and form. There's a reason that "classic" rock stations are so popular, the current crop of music just doesn't get to me. I have a philosophy that music is 'sposed to entertaining. Anyway I got to talk to Robert Kraft who produces music for motion pictures (as you probably know). He said if I liked what he had done, then I should listen to what he did with the Mambo Kings soundtrack.
Rented the movie, bought the soundtrack and the rest is
history.

I like the fact that people get dressed up to go out dancing,
not looking like they crawled out of a duffel bag. I like the fact that the man and woman actually hold each other and that there are steps to work from. A lot of the same things that attracted you to Salsa are the things that attract me as well.

I'm really getting into the music, trying to find what I like
and don't like. Being a pilot (and working two jobs for awhile) it's
been hard to try and schedule dance lessons. I have them (lessons) bought and paid for but finding the time is the problem. Now that I'm down to one job it will be much easier.

I really appreciated the interview with Joe Cassini. It shed
some light on some things I had questions about. I agree with him that the musicians of forty years ago did some really incredible things. Right now it is my favorite music. There is a difference between what they did back then compared to what the musicians are doing now (although I admit to not having a full comprehension of the music and artists).

1 Vs 2. I had heard the term dancing on the two (or
something like that) and didn't really understand until I read some things on the page that allowed me to figure it out. That's why your page is important, not only for those who know what they're talking about, but for those of us that are just getting into it. Keep it up !

Mambo wav. I got that wav from a software page whose
software is called Mambo. I did an Internet search about six months ago using Mambo and found the page. I copied the wav so I could try and figure out the name of the song and the artist so I could go buy the music. There was also an animated gif that I copied as well. I made up a quickie web page in retaliation for some guano a couple of my friends were giving me. I'll send the files and you can get a good laugh from it. As far as I'm concerned you can do what ever you want with the wav and gif. If you post
it and find out what the song is, be sure and let me know.
Speaking of songs, the wav's that play when the page opens, what are they, who plays them, and where can I get them. I'm always looking.

Here's question: Is it common to have people come into a
club that don't know anything about the music? I mean to look around, like. I would like to check it out, but am not sure how well received a neophyte that doesn't dance (yet) would be received.

Dump the files I'm sending into a folder called Latin, then
double click on the HTML file. Get ready to laugh. My friends thought it was a pretty cool come back to all the s**t they were giving me about changing my style of music.
