Thomas' Story...

Dear Edie,

My name is Thomas and I'm from Holland.
Salsa has become the most important thing in my life. It was on a hot summernight that I met salsa. I heard a previous unknown pleasant sound coming out of a club and when I entered the room I saw people moving on the dancefloor doing incredible things. I saw beautifull women (I love latinas) moving in a way that made me shiver all over my body. The men dancing with the ladies were able to put a smile on the faces of that divine creatures on the dancefloor. I was jealous! I couldn't do that!
Yes I was able doing a lot of things to a woman but that's nothing compared to that! Thank God I discovered that I was blessed with the gift too. First I learned the basic steps and after a short period of time I learned many new moves and tricks. I lost my girlfriend just the way as described in the salsaholic anonimous graphic. But who cares?
There's salsa. Then came a period of delusion. I got bored dancing salsa. I saw everybody doing the same things. I wanted to break free. No rules like in society (wich I want to escape while I'm on the dancefloor) Cuban style, Latin style or Antillian style it shouldn't matter. JUST DANCE!!! MOVE!! Let the rythm take control.
Nowadays I just do what i feel like and the fun returned even bigger as before!
In Holland most people dance the Antillian style wich is right foot forward. In some places there are instructors teaching the Cuban style.
In my city (Groningen) the people dance both styles (right and left). Very interesting stuff. So if you want you can learn both ways and make yourself a more complete dancer. Left or Right. It shouldn't matter. Evolution... adapt to the lady.
I hope Edie and the dance team pass by in Holland for a couple of days so we can dance together. So take car and have fun and make lots of new friends!

Love Thomas.
