I’ve taken many private lessons from many female instructors, and one of my
favorites is Josie Neglia. In the video, Josie demonstrates how she has taken
virtually all her years of intense ballroom training to the Street Salsa dance
floor. Her charisma and style is the envy of women around the world. Josie
Neglia is in a class by herself.
That’s why, when Josie told me she just completed her Ladies Styling Video, I
was eager to get my hands on it, not only to do its review, but to learn a few
things as well. It is clearly, one of the best I’ve seen.
The video starts with a beautiful introduction of movement, grace, and style, by
four beautiful women (Rosi Lucero, Alma Padilla, Maria Novoa and Josie herself)
in perfect synchronization. Josie then goes on to cover not only female arm
movement, but sexy details such as finger placement, and facial expression.
I found her instructing the viewer just as she trains her private classes in
person. Each move is covered step-by step, and demonstrated with the other
women, so the viewer can see not only what Josie looks like doing the moves, but
can also relate how other women with different body types and personalities look
like doing the same moves.
I have to admit, my favorite part of the whole video is the ending. Josie put in
some hilarious "bloopers" and makes us realize that this "Salsa
Princess" is not only a real person, but a funny, and a sincere human
being. My respect and admiration for this woman has always been, and always will
be the very best.

to your video collection as well. The popularity of Josie’s Ladies Styling
class at the 1999 International Salsaweb Convention in Washington DC was clearly
evident as we all witnessed more "men" taking her ladies styling class
than women…
